Tips & Requirements For Your Wedding Ceremony...
This page will give you some tips and requirements for helping you plan for the day of your wedding! Please be aware that some items may not pertin to your ceremony.
BOOKING
I “pencil” everyone in my date book until I receive a deposit. It is best to send your deposit immediately to reserve that date. If another party call’s and wants the date you have booked, I will call you to confirm you are sending the deposit before I book another wedding. When I receive your deposit, the date is yours! For last minute weddings, I will work out a convenient payment method.
Please Note: Booking your ceremony online on this website is a binding contract. Once a ceremony is booked, your deposit is non-refundable. Please only book when you are confident you are ready. Also, while rare, we have the right to substitute another officiant on our team in any case of emergency or illness. Please know we always have back up. You will still be required to pay your balance if a change occurs.
LICENSES
Please have your licence purchased at least 3 days prior to your ceremony. I can fill out wedding licenses from any other county in Washington. Example: you can get your license in Seattle and get married in Tri-Cities.
CUSTOM VOWS
Any custom vows written by yourself need to be submitted at least a week prior to your event.
PRICING
I charge between $175-$250 for a wedding. I do provide wedding ceremonies at my home for discounted fee. If you do not choose my services, make sure whoever you hire to officiate your wedding is experienced. The “cheapest” is not always the smartest choice. This is the person who is marrying you and filling out important paperwork. We will agree on a final price prior to your ceremony date. There are no refunds on deposits or wedding ceremony fees.
My fee includes a 45 minute meeting prior to your ceremony to get to know one another. However, some book and never meet prior due to the type of wedding and or being refereed by someone they trust.
PAYMENT INFORMATION
The final payment is due at the wedding in CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. Marriage certificates will be held for 7 days if paid in check form at the wedding.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals are not automatic with a booking. A $75 fee is added to your wedding price, due to the time and extra services that I can offer in this area. This is the reason: When I attend a rehearsal, I can offer complete organization to make your wedding ceremony flow. If you have a family member or consultant, you may not need this service. It is not required; I fit into your plans, whether big or small. If you have a large wedding party you may want to consider this additional service. If your wedding is a casual smaller event, then you’re likely don’t need one. Rehearsals are one hour and should start on time. Please ask as many in your wedding party to arrive 10 minutes early so we may use the whole hour if needed.
FILLING OUT YOUR LICENSE
If you are having a receiving line, please fill out the license before the wedding, there are many times I have another event to attend. If you're not seeing each other before your ceremony, I will work out the details with you.
You will receive a copy of your licesne as a keepsake. I will receive a copy myself and will mail the other copies to the Auditor's office. You must go back to the Auditor's office for an “original” certified copy. This copy will allow you to legalize what you need to. Please allow up to 10 days for this to be processed.
If you need a certified copy immediately, you may take in your paperwork yourself to the Auditors office.
STARTING TIMES AND LATE FEES
Though I always like to spend more time with you, I often have other events scheduled. I need to start no later that 15 miniutes late. There will be a late fee for weddings of $50 for every half hour that starts after that 15 minute window. I will inform you prior to your event if we absolutely have to start of time. I try to be at your event 25 miniutes prior to the wedding to fill out paperwork and go over any last minute details. I will let you know if I will be later than that due to other events. I promise I will be there!
THE DAY OF THE WEDDING
• Please allow everyone adequate time to get ready and be ready 10 miniutes prior to start time.
• Please have your marriage liecense on the cake table or somewhere that we arrange.
• Please have your 2 witnesses names printed out on the outside of packet. You can choose anyone over 18 to do the honor of signing your liesence.
• Please have final payment either with the best man or in the marriage packet.
